Your zip code should not determine whether or not you have access to in-demand, 21st century jobs that provide good wages. We must invest in upskilling America’s workforce through career and technical education, apprenticeships, and other programs to help Americans compete in the global economy. We also must attract business development in all geographical parts of the country, and ensure that the citizens of those areas ultimately reap the benefits.

The $7.25 minimum wage is an abomination. We must raise the federal minimum wage significantly and protect workers rights to safe, healthy, and thriving workplaces so that all Americans can work with dignity.

The approval rating for the U.S. Congress is at an abysmal 10% because people feel the government no longer looks out for their best interests. We must clean up our act by banning insider stock trading by Members of Congress and senior administration officials, establishing term limits for Members of Congress, setting term limits for Supreme Court Justices, and instituting other reforms to root out the fraud and corruption that plagues the federal government today.

The right to vote and receive representation is under attack. We must pass legislation to safeguard our elections, minimize burdensome voting requirements aimed at disenfranchising communities, and fight against extreme MAGA efforts to overturn the Voting Right Act and decrease minority representation in government. We must also overturn Citizens United, stemming dark money in politics and creating more transparency in our elections.

The average American reads at a 7th-8th grade level. We must invest in making K-12 public education more equitable so that students in every part of the country are prepared to succeed. We must also expand educational opportunities for the 3/4th of Americans who do not seek a 4-year postsecondary education. This means investing more in career and technical education and expanding the types of quality postsecondary credentials we offer students looking to build a family-sustaining career.

Nothing is affordable in America- groceries, healthcare, postsecondary education, housing, or even retirement. We need to tackle the root of these problems by taking on corporate monopolies that jack up prices on consumer goods, cutting out middlemen in the healthcare system like PBMs to lower prescription drug costs, and restore key social safety net programs like the recently repealed Affordable Care Act tax credits. If we don’t resolve the economic pain that most Americans feel on a daily basis, the health of our entire democracy is in jeopardy.

Every person deserves to live with safety and equal protection under the law. We must stand firmly against bigotry, prejudice, racism, sexism, and intimidation in all forms, while defending the principle that opportunity should never be granted based on someone’s race, background, religion, or zip code. We must also combat the nationwide attack on immigrants from ICE and CBP overreach, as well as implement fixes to our legal immigration system.

We must enact common sense solutions to protect the health and safety of American families from corporate bad actors. In addition, we need to conduct oversight of corporate bad actors, and name and shame those who are willing to prioritize profit over American safety and security. Whether it be Big Tobacco and vaping companies targeting children, technology companies tracking women seeking reproductive care without their consent, or pharmaceutical companies selling faulty products that cause cancer- we need to investigate and hold bad actors accountable in the courtroom and in the court of public opinion.

We need to stop engaging in endless illegal foreign wars, like Iran, which alone has increased gas prices by up to 50% in America. We should also end illegal blanket tariffs, which creates market instability and harms small businesses as well as needlessly increases prices for American companies and consumers.
